Pastor Bryan and Tiffany Courtney

Pastors Bryan and Tiffany Courtney, ordained ministers with the Indiana District Assemblies of God, founded Mount Hope Church in January 2011. Their transformative journey began in 2001/2002 when Pastor Bryan and Tiffany encountered the Gospel, leading them to surrender their lives to Christ. Answering the call of God, they studied at the Michigan School of Ministry, Indiana School of Ministry, and Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Michigan, before starting Mount Hope Church in Lafayette, Indiana. With a heart for the community, their vision includes the City of Hope outreach center and nurturing key leaders. At Mount Hope, expect a welcoming family, an atmosphere of God’s presence, and a place of belonging and becoming where Hope, Help, and Healing abound. Join them as they unfold God’s plan in the weeks, months, and years to come.

About Mount Hope Church

Our Vision

To see the city filled with HOPE through an unswerving relationship with Jesus Christ, (Acts 13:44) empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach and disciple according to God’s purpose. (Acts 1:8)

Our Mission

We desire to be a vessel for equipping people to fulfill their God given calling. (Ephesians 4:12) We want the people of Mount Hope to reach their own particular cultural groups and communities (1 Corinthians 9:22) to bring HOPE, HELP and HEALING to those who are lost. We will do this by fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) by seeing souls saved, discipled and released for service to the Kingdom of God.

Our Beliefs

The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

There is only One True God–revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son Jesus was both human and divine.

Man Willingly Fell to Sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through ‘Salvation’ (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

Ordinances of the Church—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church and to Meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.

Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and well with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. ‘And so shall we forever be with the Lord!’

Our Values

Discipleship

We believe that discipleship is to be a foundation that is laid in order to enable believers to grow. To instill a deep desire to hunger after more of God and to expose new and relevant ways for a new believer to serve Christ with what they have been given.

Worship

We believe that worship is to be shown in a lifestyle of praise. Acts of worship should be shown continually through giving, serving, praying and song. An act of worship should be a reflection of our hearts.

Prayer

A continual attitude of prayer and a constant communion with God should be the desire of our lives. We strive to always respond to any request with an immediate time of prayer. Listening is more important than speaking.

Evangelism

Our core value has been and will always be the “Great Commission”. To disciple believers into a hunger to preach the Word to their world. Our passion is to reach the lost of all generations. The empowerment of believers comes through the Holy Spirit.

Missions

We believe that we are to be the catalyst into reaching the world through sending and supporting. A heart for missions is a heart after God. Enabling Christians to fulfill their calling in life is a responsibility for all leaders.

Leadership

Better named “Servantship”. We believe in leading through serving. It is our desire to disciple, train, and invest ourselves in the lives of others. We strive to be the best leaders we can be through putting others’ needs before our own.
